Matthieu Boutineau, born in Deux-Sèvres, discovered organ thanks to Olivier Vernet and Francis Jacob, harpsichord thanks to Blandine Verlet, Olivier Houette, Aline Zylberajch, Olivier Baumont, Jan Willem Jansen and early music thanks to Jean Maillet.
His broad repertoire encompasses works for many keyboard instruments, from the medieval clavicytherium, to piano to organ. The artist collaborated with many early music ensembles and in recordings with Faenza and Les Ambassadeurs.
In 2010, he won the first award in the organ competition in Swiss Bellelay. In May 2015, together with Escadron Volant de la Reine, he won the first place and the audience award at the 1st International Early Music Competition in Val de Loire, with jury led by William Christie.
Since 2015, Matthieu has been one of the artistic directors of Mensa Sonora ensemble, together with Gabriel Grosbard. He is also a titular organist in Notre-Dame church in Niort.
