Completed voice studies at conservatory in Piacenza; also studied violin under the direction of Carlo Feige. On the opera stage, debuted at a young age in the role of Mercury in H. Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Has performed as a soloist in Italy and abroad (Konzerthaus in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam) in a diversified repertoire – from Baroque religious music (J. S. Bach’s Passions, G. F. Handel’s Messiah) and opera (C. Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo), to works from the Classical era (W. A. Mozart’s Così fan tutte under the direction of Claudio Abbado) and the Romantic period (R. Wagner’s Die Meistersänger von Nürnberg with the RAI symphony orchestra under the direction of John Tate), to 20th-century music (L. Bernstein’sChichester Psalms, C. Orff’s Carmina Burana). Devotes much attention to the art song repertoire. Specializes in performance of songs by R. Schumann, F. Schubert, R. Strauss, H. Wolf and J. Brahms. Has worked with many early music ensembles, among others: Accademia degli Erranti, La Venexiana, Ensemble Sacro & Profano, Aurora Ensemble, Bizzarrie Armoniche, Compagnia de’ Musici, La Risonanza, Arte Resoluta and Venti e Turbini Ensemble. Often takes part in music festivals. In the most immediate future, will sing solo soprano parts in Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine (London), W. A. Mozart’s Mass in C minor (Milan, Brescia, Novara), J. S. Bach’s Mass in B minor (Tokyo), as well as performing in F. Cavalli’s L’Artemisia (Hannover), Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea and L’Orfeo(Périgord, Santander). Also plans tours of Japan and Germany, as well as the recording of a solo disc entitled Round M for the Glossa label.
