Delphine Galou

Aside from singing and piano performance, Delphine Galou also studied philosophy at the Sorbonne. She is the winner of many prizes at voice competitions in France. In 2000, she joined the Jeunes Voix du Rhin ensemble, with which she has performed at the Opéra National du Rhin in the following roles: Gretel (E. Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel), Lucretia (B. Britten's The Rape of Lucretia) and Mercedes (G. Bizet's Carmen). As a now independent artist, Galou has prepared diverse lead roles in stagings of works by G. Rossini (La pietra del paragone), H. Purcell (Dido and Aeneas), M. Ravel (L'Enfant et les sortileges), P. Tchaikovsky (Eugene Onegin), C. W. Gluck (Orfeo ed Euridice) - mainly at opera theaters in France. In 2004, she was recognized as Discovery of the Year by a French association promoting young artists. In recent years, she has enjoyed great success at the Handel Festival in Karlsruhe as Zenobia in Radamisto, as well as at Theater Basel, presenting the title role in A. Vivaldi'sOrlando furioso. This season, she debuted at the Royal Opera House in London in A. Steffani's Niobe, as well as on the stage of the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Orlando furioso with Ensemble Matheus under the direction of Jean-Christophe Spinosi. She also performed the title role in B. Britten's opera The Rape of Lucretia at the opera theater in Angers, as well as the role of Bradamante in Handel's Alcina on the stage of Theater St. Gallen. She has concertized with the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, Ensemble Pygmalion, Ensemble Les Siecles, Accademia Bizantina, Les Arts Florissants and Orchestre Philharmonique de Liege; she has been featured at the festival in Beaune, where she sang in works by Handel (Rinaldo and Alessandro). Marina de Liso is presently preparing for a new project of the Staatsoper in Berlin - Il trionfo del Tempo, in which she will appear under the direction of Marc Minkowski. She is also working on, among other items, a solo part in J. S. Bach's Passion According to St. Matthew, which she will perform together with the ensemble I Barocchisti under the direction of Diego Fasolis; and later, with the group Les Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble under the direction of Minkowski. Invited to collaborate with Jordi Savall in a production of Vivaldi's Teuzzone, she will be featured at Versailles, perform several times in Beaune and, among other places, Santiago de Compostela, Vienna (Theater an der Wien) and Madrid (with Ensemble Matheus), as well as at the Festival de la Chaise Dieu.
