During the week between 2-9 April, Kraków will once again host some of the greatest stars of Baroque music. The 9th Misteria Paschalia Festival will feature magnificent voices, including Roberta Invernizzi, Vivica Genaux, Josè Maria Lo Monaco, Julia Lezhneva, and Magnus Staveland, and ensembles beloved by the public, such as Europa Galante, Accademia Bizantina, Hespèrion XXI, La Capella Reial de Catalunya, Les Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble, and Ensemble Matheus.

Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett has been nominated for the prestigious Paszporty Polityki Award 2011 in the Classical Music category. We are pleased to inform you that the artist will perform as part of the DEBUTES section at the next year's 9th edition of the Misteria Paschalia Festival. She is preparing a concert entitled CRUX - Easter music from Paris sources, which will be held on the 7th of April at the Wieliczka Salt Mine.

We regret to inform you that Montserrat Figueras, the soprano singer and long-time partner of Jordi Savall, passed away in the morning of the 23rd of November. A farewell ceremony will be held at 10 am this Friday in Bellaterra, a town close to her home city Barcelona.

Following the great success of last year’s Krakow for a Christmas gift event, we have now prepared a second edition! From next Wednesday (November 16th), on the Allegro profile of the Krakow Festival Office and in three InfoKraków tourist information centres (at ul. św. Jana 2, the Wyspianski Pavilion at pl. Wszystkich Świętych 2 and the Tourist Services Centre at ul. Powiśle 11), it will be possible to buy special passes to selected festivals organised next year by the Krakow Festival Office as well as purchase publications prepared by it. All of these will be available at special Christmas rates – it would be hard to find a better Christmas gift for those fond of high-brow culture!
